Current data estimates indicate there are over 20,000 food insecure children in Western Massachusetts. Childhood and youth hunger poses serious risks to the wellbeing of too many children across our region. Voices in Food Equity: Nourishing Tomorrow's Leaders will focus on this issue with a panel discussion on Wednesday June 12th at Springfield College. Scheduled speakers include; Jose Lopez-Figueroa- Director of the Center for Access Services at Springfield Technical Community College, Abby Getman Skillicorn- Special Projects Manager for Massachusetts Farm to School, Shannon Rudder- CEO of Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services, and Catalina Lopez Ospina- Vice President of Engagement at Project Bread. The panel offers a space for us all to learn from each other, discuss innovative community-driven solutions and understand opportunities for legislative action. We invite you to register today to join the conversation for a hunger-free Western Massachusetts, and share with friends, family, and fellow forward-thinkers you think may be interested. Get inspired, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and connect with like- minded individuals on Wednesday June 12th at Springfield College from 5:00-7:30pm.
